Who We Are

Our Mission Church started in 2002, meeting at the KOA campgrounds in Starke, Florida.

In 2007, we moved to a building on Church Street in Starke. It was here that we left the status of “Mission Church” and chose the name Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Starke, now being a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). Our first pastor was Rev. John Buchheimer, who had retired from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

We moved to our current location in 2010 where Rev. Buchheimer officiated at the dedication of our current home. This location offers a church office/Sunday school building.

Our Sanctuary building seats 50 congregants comfortably.

The third building is our fellowship hall where adult bible study is held and includes snacks because Lutheran love to eat.

Our location is located at NW 182nd Way and State Road Hwy 16.

We believe “For by grace we are saved through faith, not by works!

Eph 2: 8-9

Worship service is held at 10:00 a.m. with  Sunday school and fellowship held following our worship service.

The Sacrament of Communion is celebrated every Sunday

and any LCMS member may receive it.
